The sweetest smelling candles of the Fall season.
I don’t know about you, but one of my favorite things about Fall is bathing my home in the warm glow of a candle that permeates a smell of holiday baking throughout my house…. Pumpkin Spice, Cinnamon Rolls, Apple Pie… you name it, and it’s fair game in my domaine.
These are things that make me feel cozy and happy. Just add a soft throw blanket, a cup of coffee with my necessary cream and sugar, and a crackling fireplace. (Queue a light snowfall, and it’s my idea of a perfect afternoon.)

Growing up in the Midwest, I was lucky enough to have plenty of these types of Fall days, and I can say that I first-hand have tried probably a thousand candles. And now that I’m located in Sunny Florida, I find myself fully missing those transitionally cool days where I can cozy up and watch the leaves blow, and listen to the wind whistle below bellowing gray clouds outside.
Now, I must make do with really forcing a Fall feel inside my house – when it’s all palm trees and swimming pools outside. A strange dynamic I don’t know if I’ll ever quite get used to. But I digress…
Back to the candles.
I like to light it up in my house (he he) from morning to night! Here are some of my tried and true, tested favorites for the season.
Smells like baking.
A couple of years ago, I had the pleasure of e-meeting Bex Anderson – a boss mom with a candle biz – through Instagram, and she gifted me some of her candles to try out. Boy did they have a lasting effect on me.
It’s not often I find a product I must re-order time and again (my last order was just shy of $300, because I couldn’t stop adding to cart), and which I also feel compelled to share with those around me.
But like a teenage girl who must be the earliest adopter, I want to shout these candles from the rooftops. They’re scrumptious.
Her Happy Little Flame candles put a smile on my face and fool everyone in the house into thinking I’ve just baked a sweet treat.
Some of my recent favorites include Maple Bourbon Cider, Hay There, Fall, and Banana Bread. Literally to die for.
Also, try her Cheeky/Swear line, such as F-You 2020 (I think we can all agree with how appropriate that title is); or the ode to Football season, Practice Safe Saks.
Smells like a campfire.
Bonfire Nights. The name says it all. We used to have bonfires with friends after Friday night high school football games, so this candle has all the nostalgia for me. And the smell does not disappoint.
This is a Nature’s Wick It’s one of my number one favorites. So much so, that I was saddened during this COVID madness to see my local Target candle shelves laid bare, with no sight of my Bonfire Nights candle. I have just seen that they’ve been restocked. I recommend buying 3-4 at a time. And the same goes for my Happy Little Flame recommendations above.
A few more finds:
While the above are my personal tried and true favorites for my home, I haven’t met a candle I didn’t want to try. I’m just a sucker for a house that smells like a bakery – or just really cozy. Here are some more gorgeous and sweet-smelling finds for you to try for yourself (or gift for the upcoming Holiday season).
