Glamming up the traditional slumber party.
The sleepover… a childhood rite of passage dating back to the 1950’s, and like many of you, I distinctly recall the first slumber party that I was allowed to attend. It was a BIG DEAL! I was decked out in black stirrup pants; white Keds over two layered pairs of differently colored slouch socks; an oversized, white t-shirt with the face of a tiger printed on the front in neon colors that was cinched on the side in a plastic t-shirt clip; and crimped hair piled up in a side ponytail on the top of my head in a scrunchie… ohhhhh yeahhhh!!! With my new sleeping bag in tow, I was ready to go!
Recently, I was given the opportunity to connect with Sabine Schroeder, the founder and owner of KidsDreamFactory. Her company is part of a growing trend that is giving the traditional sleepover a glamorous facelift.
Sabine’s passion for party planning was sparked years ago while organizing her daughter’s first slumber party. At the time, she was working as a physician’s assistant in Berlin and spent her spare time planning and equipping children’s parties. In 2017, she and her family moved to Naples, Florida, which was when she decided to transform her passion into her profession, thus giving life to KidsDreamFactory.
Sabine has created an impressive array of beautifully designed and crafted dreamscapes for all genders and occasions. The majority of Sabine’s thematic inspiration has come from her daughter, which she then uses to guide her creative genius.
What’s better, is KidsDreamFactory customers are given the opportunity to request their own theme at no extra cost. She recruits local talent to handcraft the tents she uses, which allows for the quick and easy implementation of any new designs.
In addition to the provisioning of these gorgeously epic settings, KidsDreamFactory offers special party add-ons, such as flower crown decorating, breakfast, and even a spa party option.
KidsDreamFactory also adhered to strict sanitation protocols even before the COVID-19 pandemic – and have continued such, including: the use of gloves and masks during set-up, breakdown, and any of the hostess services; professional antibacterial cleaning of all fabrics and pillows; and disinfection of all mattresses and decorative items after each event.
For those of you residing in the area, KidsDreamFactory also offers contactless delivery for those who select the “Sleepover DIY” option, in which all materials are provided with detailed assembly instructions and then retrieved the following morning.
After browsing the KidsDreamFactory website, I found myself daydreaming about my littles snuggled under these precious tents, giggling with their friends, and creating treasured memories to last a lifetime. The realization of my daydream is exactly what fuels the Schroeder family’s love for their work.
With that, Sabine and her family continue to grow and expand their vision for the company. This month, KidsDreamFactory began a partnership with a popular Naples beachfront hotel to provide its sleepover service to the children of the hotel guests.
Now, I don’t know about y’all, but with two toddlers at home and another babe on the way, I am already looking at my calendar years down the line so that I can book their Mommy and Me experience!
