The ultimate guide to cultivating a table full of holiday cheer.
Arguably, the kitchen is the heart of a home. We could take it a step further and say the dining table is actually the true heart. It’s where intimate family conversations are had; where homework is done; where card games are played; and generally where people gather when they come over (at least in my home).
So I feel very strongly that this place in a home should feel special, inviting, and warm. There’s just something about a dining table that’s always fully decorated with a stunning centerpiece. It captures my heart.
Giving the heart of your home a vibrant feel all year long – but especially at the holidays – is a very LUXYMOM® thing. So we’re bringing you on a voyage across the Pinterest landscape to bring you tips, tricks, and a whole lot of inspiration to turn your holiday dinner table into a wonderland of cheer.

Tip 1: Don’t be afraid. This doesn’t have to be extravagant.
One of my favorite things to do is to grab different décor items I have around the house and throw a “look” together. I’ll grab an assortment of candles, vases, perhaps pinecones or pumpkins, depending on the occasion.
Tip 2: Vary your textures.
Time to really mix it up. Bring a collection of textures, from things like smooth metals to rustic woods, to foliage and flowers and grosgrain ribbon and silks.
Tip 3: Try new color palettes.
While Christmas typically signals the use of red, white, and green – let’s not forget about blue and white, silver and gold, and even – say what? Mustard yellow!
Tip 4: Use food.
Cranberries, dried orange slices, cinnamon sticks, pomegranates – these are all very vibrant edible items that’ll enhance your table décor with a natural feel.
You can go simple….
Trays are a big deal this year, and they’re a nice way to keep the centerpiece confined, so you have more room for the fixings.
… Or you can just be extra.
Maybe simplicity isn’t your thing. Or maybe you’re just trying to overcompensate this year for all the stress and sadness that’s been going around. This is a great way to get extra festive, so take a queue here from all this extravagant décor.
