COVID-friendly individual charcuterie treats – served in a jar!
Charcuterie boards are a sought-after treat that we all love and adore. However, with the shift in social paradigm, these crowd pleasers are not always a go-to nowadays because of communal concerns. But now we have the perfect solution for your entertaining needs to keep charcuterie boards on the menu.
Ladies, say hello to Jar-Cuterie. Jarcuterie is a small, individually-portioned jar of traditional charcuterie board YUM that is as beautiful to look at as it is easy to create. And we are obsessed!

The Jarcuterie Vessel
Listen, we all know that when we get creative, we can go overboard on the materials. But for this little delight, we can go to the source for all things budget friendly – the Dollar Store.
Grab yourself some Mason Jars, or some small cups that fit your fancy – or head to Michael’s and grab crafting jars as your base. We also love the idea of taking butcher’s paper and wrapping your nom-noms up like bouquets in inexpensive paper cups.
The Contents
This is the fun part. You can go to town with creativity here, and the first place to start is the theme and the taste you are going for.
You can add the usual staples like meat, cheese, fruit, and olives. But now we have a chance to go cutie-tonic and do candy themes for the kiddos; holiday themes; sweet and savory themes; and oh my goodness, yummy dessert jars, which happen to be my personal favorite.
One main element to remember when filling your jar is that you want to put something sturdy and durable on the bottom to act as an anchor to your skewers or toothpicks.
For example, let’s make a savory jar. We would use dried nuts or fruit as the bottom layers . Next, add thin meats like pepperoni, salami, deli meats, and cubed cheese on toothpicks or skewers, so the jar is packed but also has height. Then, stuff the smaller items like berries, wedges of cheese, mini breadsticks, crackers, and honey combs on top to finish the jar off.
Decoration
You can get as festive as you like here, and keep in mind – theme is EVERYTHING. Grab some ribbons, twine, or if you are doing a candy jar, try thin licorice ropes! The sky is the limit when decorating these little beauties. Print some labels to individualize your jarcuterie with names, contents of the jar, or write messages for totally Instagram-worthy delights!
