This Mother-Daughter team is taking the beauty industry by storm with natural products for glowing and youthful skin.
Every once in a while, you come across a product that is so good, so pure, and so yummy for your skin that you just have to tell everyone you know about it. I was fortunate enough to have stumbled upon this totally natural skincare line a few months ago when a friend asked me to try it out and give her some feedback.
Well, my skin did a “happy dance” after just a few short days and has never looked better. Let’s just say I am over 50, and genuinely concerned with how my skin looks – both pre-COVID-19, and now during Zoom meeting-COVID-19.
I feel a duty to share my “secret” with all you LUXYMOMs® out there who are looking for a “miracle” product line to make you feel better both inside and out. I sought out the founders of YulinJade, and I was delighted to meet an amazing Mother-Daughter team, Yulin and Jade. I’d like to share that interview with you now.
Terri/LUXYMOM®: Yulin, as a spa owner and an esthetician for 37 years, what was your biggest learning that inspired some part of YulinJade skincare?
Yulin: Clients came to Yulin’s Day Spa to get pampered and be made beautiful. I often thought, wouldn’t it be nice if as an esthetician I could someday offer my clients a high-end, very pure skincare line that was also truly effective. I had learned that women relied on and trusted the spa owner to use the very best products, and I wanted to honor that trust by giving them something better than I had seen. So, the line started as a dream, even back then.
Terri/LUXYMOM®: Jade, you’ve told me that you’ve been diagnosed with Epstein-Barr virus. Did you become obsessed with wellness BEFORE or AFTER you got sick?
Jade: After! Most of my life I did not pay attention to organic products. But after my EB and Chronic Fatigue diagnosis, I did tons of research and discovered just how much pure products and foods actually impact your health. That’s when I fell in love with the natural world so much that I got certified in natural health consulting and added it to my counseling practice. I love being able to help others by sharing what has helped me.
Terri/LUXYMOM®: There are so many skincare lines out there. What makes YulinJade unique?
Yulin: We offer the highest percentage of organic ingredients of any luxury skincare line that we know of. There are countless lines out there that call themselves “natural” or even “organic,” but they may only contain a small amount of organic ingredients. Most contain anywhere from 25-70% certified organic ingredients.
YulinJade products contain 85-100% certified organic ingredients, and the majority of the line is USDA Certified Organic. I believe we are the only luxury line that can make that statement. We have the most potent, highest antioxidant botanicals and super fruits.
We wanted to bring a high end line to the next level with the highest purity possible. By being USDA Organic, it means the products have zero questionable chemicals. It also means the extracts themselves; the soil in which they are grown; and even the manufacturing facility and processes, are held to the strictest purity standards. And as the icing on the cake, we offer recyclable packaging, sustainable practices, and we are passionately cruelty free.
Terri/LUXYMOM®: Some other natural products are also very pure but don’t make much of an impact on the skin. Is your product line truly effective?
Jade: Yes! Many other lines may only use common plants and fruits, like oranges, apples, lavender, and lemon. But our line takes it to the next level – with a wide variety of the most active, powerful botanicals in the world.
Some of these include Camu Camu, which has 60 times the Vitamin C of an orange; Acai, which has 100 times the antioxidant power of blueberries; and Sea Buckthorn Berry, which is the only plant with all four nourishing Omega fatty acids.
YJ also includes Astaxanthin, the highest antioxidant in the world (with an ORAC score of 2 million). This amazing compound comes from red algae and helps cells regenerate out of water. Famous as potent physical health supplements, these special extracts are just breaking through in the skin care world. And the YJ line includes a rare number of them – fifteen in total – while most other lines only include a couple of super botanicals (if they have them at all). These ingredients are also at the top of every ingredient list, so they can be the most effective.
We also have two products that include a concentrated amount of clinically renowned ingredients like Hyaluronic Acid, Swiss Apple Stem Cells, and Marine Peptides – all sourced purely from nature.
Terri/LUXYMOM®: Are your products safe for sensitive skin or those with allergies?
Yulin: Yes. Our products are gluten, soy, and dairy free. They are fragrance free, with only a small amount of one or two essential oils per product. And 4 of the 6 products are VEGAN. While our line is highly effective for all types of skin: dry, oily, normal, and combination, it is also very gently and safe, even for the most sensitive skin types.
Terri/LUXYMOM®: Yulin, you dedicated your skincare collection to your late husband. Tell me about him.
Yulin: My late husband taught me everything I know today about how to be a savvy businesswoman. He started out as a mail delivery man and worked his way up to CEO in the same manufacturing and marketing facility that worked with famous brands like Windex, Colgate, and Robitussin. He even personally brought Advil from Europe to the U.S.
He was wise, caring, encouraging, and always believed so much in Jade and myself. He was not only my mentor but my absolute hero. Jade and I believe he is watching over us and proud of our company today.
Terri/LUXYMOM®: Jade, what’s it like living AND working with your Mom?
Jade: Most of the time I really enjoy both living and working with my Mom. But of course, as mother and daughter, it isn’t always easy! This skincare line is such a heartfelt project for us, it can bring out both our passionate (and sometimes stubborn!) personalities. But most of the time we do end up on the same page about decisions. We always try to treat the business as a partnership.
Terri/LUXYMOM®: Jade, I understand you’d like to give part of your profits to charity. What is the most important cause that you’d like to contribute to?
Jade: My mom and I have such a love for animals, so we would like to contribute to causes that rescue and rehabilitate them from abusive situations like labs/testing.
Terri/LUXYMOM®: Your skincare is natural and organic. What about the foods you eat?
Jade: Out of the two of us, I am the one who eats the most organic foods, but my mom does eat free range meats and organic veggies.
