We’re going on a waffle and pancake bar adventure!
I don’t know about your household, but in mine, breakfast is one of our favorite meals. I adore the smell of warm maple syrup and making fresh waffles or pancakes. I love experimenting with different recipes and adding different textures to my batter, and I await the rection of my family when they taste something “new”.
However, sometimes it’s fun to not only change up the recipe, but also how you serve the food you prepare.
While performing my nightly ritual of falling down the Pinterest rabbit hole, I discovered that savvy mamas were now serving their pancakes and waffles buffet style with all the fixings. It was a new way of getting the kids in the kitchen and having a more interactive experience at the table.
I thought this was a fabulous idea. So, naturally – I decided to use my family as the guinea pig for this new breakfast fad. Behold, LUXYMOMS® – the Pancake and Waffle Bar. Not only is this fun for your own family breakfast, but this is a must for sleepover parties, and even a fun brunch idea.
The following Sunday, I made both waffles and pancakes and then went positively sideways on the offering to put upon them. I thought of this as accessorizing my breakfast, and once I had the idea, I got a little carried away. Now, you can be as healthy or cheat day as you wish, but I decided to do a mixture – I am a lover of cookie butter so – when having a cheat day, I say CHEAT!
For my little spread, I put out the normal toppings such as syrup, butter, and powdered sugar – but I also added some LUXY touches. I put out bananas, peanut butter, honey, granola, cookie butter, coconut shavings, dried cranberries/blueberries, and then a whole assortment of jams.
My child’s eyes lit up like the Fourth of July when she saw the kitchen table. She gave me a weary look, and I could see she was debating in her mind just how much fruit she had to put on her plate to make the mountain of cookie butter I knew she was going to request acceptable. Again, if you are going to cheat – cheat. I was like Willy Wonka when he released the children upon his edible wonderland. You may pass, my child!
This lead me to think, how amazing would this be for a baby shower brunch?! You could have a mimosa bar and a waffle/pancake bar. You could even replace the pancakes with crepes to LUXYIFY it up a little. So, LUXYMOMs® – give this yummy breakfast idea a try and get ready to be the most amazing breakfast hacker of all time!
