S’mores Bars

Priscilla Morris

This is how we make a typical kid’s snack oh-so-LUXY.

Wouldn’t it be great if we could bring the fun of making s’mores inside? Well, as it turns out, we can – thanks to a wonderfully creative trend called a S’mores Bar. This oh-so-simple, yet delicious idea, will leave you wondering why the thought never crossed your mind before.

There are dozens of creative and beautiful ways to lay out and decorate your S’mores Bar, so let’s start with a simple one. First, we need to make sure to gather up all the basic ingredients: marshmallows, graham crackers, Hershey’s chocolate (or your favorite chocolate bars), and s’more sticks. We’ve actually created a shopping board right on our Amazon shop, so click here to shop all ingredients and tools.

Since we’re bringing s’mores inside, we’ll also need small round burners to cook the marshmallows over. Next, we’ll need a rectangular container or container-like dishes. Be creative, momma. This can be something as rustic as an old wooden drawer or a deep tray – something that allows you to place all your goodies inside without spilling out and is easily moveable.

Don’t worry if you can’t find the right tray. Avoid the mommy melt-down, reach for the glass of wine, go online and search for one of those creative mommas out there who makes specialized s’mores trays that you can buy. No one will ever know. I certainly won’t say anything, because, well, I did the same thing, so shhh!

Once you’ve picked out your container – or disposed of the Amazon or Etsy box it came in – start organizing your yummy treats inside. Leave a section for the marshmallows, maybe a mason jar for the sticks, have the chocolates together on the other side, and place the graham crackers up front.

You can also jazz up your S’mores Bar by using river stones or glass gems underneath the burners for cooking the marshmallows.

The best part of this chocolate-y treat is that there are no rules! Once we’ve put together the basic elements, we can get fancy. Depending on who you’re inviting over to enjoy this scrumptious delight, you can change things up by offering a variety of chocolates instead of just the normal Hershey’s.

Maybe add dark chocolate, or white chocolate, strawberry even.  Have you ever had chocolate covered bacon? If you haven’t, its out of this world! Have a small section of bacon bits, to top off your s’mores or chopped almonds – even sprinkles, depending on your crowd. The point is momma, you can let down your hair and have fun with this trend or be as elegant as you like.

S’mores speak to every generation and every palate. They bring memories back to you from years past, and they create new memories to last a lifetime. So if you’re entertaining this winter and are in search of a great new idea to get everyone excited, you need a S’mores Bar.
