Staying glam while staying in for the holidays.
The holiday season may look different this year, but our love of fashion has not changed one bit. Small and intimate gatherings seem to be the way we are headed, but we fully intend to put on the glitz and celebrate with a few family members and friends in the most fashionable way possible. Honestly, just because you can’t go out to a big party, that does not mean you can’t have an incredibly enjoyable time surrounded by the ones you love and still feel amazing in the skin you are in.
No Ritz, no problem – we are still putting on the glitz. It is all about the people you surround yourself with and the atmosphere you create. Come on ladies, we can still fun-fetti the chic out of this moment. All you need are some balloons, break out that old disco ball, and put on some fabulous music. Add a little moody lighting, throw in some candles and we are in business! You don’t need a photographer – try getting a Polaroid camera to get that extra grainy and vintage feel. It is fun, nostalgic, and the kids will have a blast playing with our ancient technology!
Of course, we can do a full sit-down dinner, but what about a beautiful spread of fabulous charcuterie boards and assorted cocktails? Fast, easy and a no muss clean up. There is such a fantastic trend of treats small businesses are providing and they ranch from Vegan, Vegetarian, and full-blown carnivore lover. This is a great way to keep your guests moving and the conversation flowing with small bites through the evening. You can also show off some fancy and unique cocktails that are both delicious and beautiful to look at for variety. Why not try having a cocktail bar with a menu with ingredients laid out so guests can make their own with or without alcohol? There is a little something for everyone!
The Dress Code
Darling, full glam is the way to go. Invite your guests to immerse themselves in the moment and break out the razzle dazzle. Even the kiddos can get in on the action. My daughter loves dressing up for an event, and the holiday season is her absolute favorite. Those beautiful outfits that have been sitting in your closet just begging for light during this lonely and quiet social season, show them some love. Black tie or cocktail attire would be so much fun at a small, intimate party. A total nod to the Great Gatsby era of small dinner parties where it was invitation only and the glamour was so over the top it was divine. Someone bring me a plume for my hair!
This December, it may be cold outside, but you can still spice up your holidays with a little creativity and a little planning. There is no reason you cannot still holiday the LUXYMOM® way and put on the glitz!
