Lately, I’ve been looking for a variety of tops that I can wear with more than one type of bottom. Because these days, I just can’t buy something if I’m only going to be able to wear it once.
One of my absolute favorite design elements – whether it’s found in the design details of clothing, decor, or anywhere else – is TEXTURE. It adds so much statement and character, and can be done in so many ways.
And for someone like me who loves to play with neutrals and create a versatile wardrobe, adding texture is a great way to expand your clothing options. (If you’re looking for more pops of color, go here – where I detail some floral print options for spring).
This lacy white top is from one of my very favorite brands, Self-Portrait. It’s their Guipure Lace and Crepe top, which I purchased at Net-A-Porter recently. It’s constructed so beautifully, and it’s fully lined. I’m not even wearing a bra in these photos, lol! 🙂
This top is also extremely versatile. You can wear it with simple jeans or shorts, or you can dress it up with a skirt or leather skinnies. It’s a fun, textured take on a neutral that’ll last you a long time. On-trend, but classic.
In the photos above, I paired it with my AG Adriano Goldschmied Stilt jeans. I love AGs because they’ve always fit my 5’1″ frame like a glove – both before and after my two pregnancies. Thank you, AG!
Last, but certainly not least, are the shoes and bag. I’ve had these B Brian Atwood heels for at least two (maybe three?) years now, and I’m in love with them. I wear them all the time and they’re super comfortable.
But since you can’t buy them any longer, I do have a back-up for you. Aquazzura is my new absolute favorite shoe line. The style of Edgardo Osorio (the line’s founder and designer) just speaks to my heart, and I have started collecting his shoes. The pair pictured in the slider below have a similar look to the ones I’m wearing in the pics, and you can find them here.
And you’ll soon come to know that Louis Vuitton is my most-collected line of bags that I currently own. They’re so classic and the styles I collect will never go out of fashion. I’m currently carrying the Louis Vuitton Pallas Chain bag – but if you want a similar style that is much more affordable, check out this gorgeous Chevron Quilted Crossbody by Rebecca Minkoff.
